Liberal Party of Australia Queensland Division (1949- ). Previously the Queensland People's Party (1943-1949).
Objectives - A patriotic democratic Australia dedicated to political liberty and the freedom and dignity of man, part of a world security order to maintain peace and in which defence is a universal duty. Australian democracy is to be maintained by: the rule of law, control of the executive by parliament, independence of the judiciary, freedom of speech, religion and association, a variety of ways of life, protection against exploitation, progress through individual initiative and the development of the national spirit. The Party aims to ensure: special benefits for ex-service personnel, social services, adequate medical services, constant employment and good wages, co-operation between employer and employee, rising living standards, education free of determination by wealth, and the encouragement of youth, family life and home ownership.
