Richard Hamilton Lane was born on 18 January 1918 at Coogee, New South Wales. Dramatist, playwright. Known for adaptation of plays and films for radio and television drama. He wrote for television programs such as Bellbird, The Sullivans and Carson's Law. He won four Australian Writers Guild Awards. He died on 20 February 2008 at Sydney, New South Wales.
