Papers relating to the Relics Advisory Committee within the Queensland Ministry for Aboriginal and Island Affairs and later within the Archaeology Branch of the Department of Aboriginal and Islanders Advancement. The papers contain correspondence, reports, newspaper cuttings and journal articles relevant to the Committee's decisions under the Aboriginal Relics Preservation Act 1967-1976. In addition the collection includes: notebooks, recordings, videos and photographs related to Rigsby's linguistic and ethnographic works in Queensland; and papers relating to research, teaching, administrations and applied work (especially native title).

Nicholson River Land Claim hearing photographs

37 photographs, colour, 9 x 13 cm, and 23 photographs, black-and-white, 9 x 13 cm, relating to the Nicholson River (Waanyi/Garawa) Land Claim under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976. The hearings were conducted in the bush at Nudjabarra/Najabarra, Northern Territory, about half a kilometre from the Queensland border. The photographs were taken by David Trigger and Robert Blowes.

Circular letter regarding Wattie Creek land rights

Duplicated typescript circular letter from the Northern Territory Council for Aboriginal Rights (Inc.) regarding the 10 July 1968 announcement of the Australian Government's decision against granting land at Wattie Creek, Northern Territory, to the Gurindji people. It summarises the reaction of the Gurindji people, including Vincent Lingiari, after George Gibbs broke the news to the community. Also mentions Mick Rangiari, Vestey Brothers, Limbunya Station, Wave Hill, and the Wailbri people. Ends with a call for support to protest the decision.
