In 1920, the Queensland Institute of Engineers amalgamated with the Institution of Engineers, Australia, to form Brisbane Division. In 1967, the name of the Institution of Engineers, Australia, Brisbane Division was changed to Institution of Engineers, Australia, Queensland Division.
Institution of Engineers, Australia Brisbane Division (1919-1950?). Objectives - To advance the science and practice of engineering in all its branches; to raise the character and status and advance the interests of the profession of engineering and all those engaged in it; to promote honourable practice. Notes: The Queensland Institute of Engineers, which began in the 1880s, became the Brisbane Division of the Institution of Engineers, Australia when that body was formed in 1919. In the 1950s it became the Queensland Division.
