Many of the letters, research documents and photographs relating to New Guinea were used as source material for Anne McCosker's book Masked Eden: A History of the Australians in New Guinea.

Two typed drafts of 'Each Man is to Fend for Himself: A Tragedy in Two Acts'. One of the drafts, dated 2008, is annotated and accompanied by an English translation of an account of the final Montevideo Maru voyage, written in Japanese by Hisashi Noma. The second draft, containing no annotations, is dated 2010. This file also contains a typed draft of a poem entitled 'Time?', with a handwritten annotation indicating the poem was written in the mid 1960s.
