Papers of Walter Cunningham Hume (1840 – 1921), surveyor and Chief Commissioner for Lands for Queensland; his wife Katie, daughter Ethel, brother Washington Hume, and members of both their families in England. They lived at Drayton, Toowoomba, and Brisbane. Includes personal correspondence, photograph albums, travel journals, diaries, and notebooks.

Research notes, books, correspondence, photographs, and newspaper clippings related to Nancy Bonnin's introduction to the 1975 University of Queensland Press edition of David Hennessey's The dis-honourable and to her 1985 book "Katie Hume on the Darling Downs." Also included is an essay on Hennessey's The Outlaw entitled "The Australian Bushranger : Cultural Catalyst."
