A message to Queensland women, 28 January 1986 / Margaret Reynolds

Contents of a fax sent to 'Queensland Women', detailing state government policies implemented in the states of New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia over ten years previous to 1986. It has a title page of many different news headlines, and a cover page with the Parliament of Australia - The Senate stationery heading and Ms Reynolds's signature.

A women's health speak out.

Black type on white paper. A flyer, likely created by the Queensland Nurses' Union, for a women's health speak out to be held on Thursday 15 October, year unspecified, at the Queensland Nurses Union Building in West End, Brisbane. The flyer advises the speaker is Phillida Bunkle, then co-ordinator of Women's Studies at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, visiting Australia on a speaking tour. Flyer contains information about Phillida's involvement in women's health issues, including the inquiry into cervical cancer treatment at the National Women's Hospital in New Zealand. The flyer also makes reference to the 'recently announced' National Cervical Cancer Program in Australia.

Older Women's Network public meeting.

White paper with black type. A flyer advising of a public meeting to be held by the Older Women's Network, abbreviated to OWN, on Thursday 15 November 1990 at the Italian-Australian Centre in Newmarket, Brisbane. The flyer states the purpose of the meeting is to consider forming an Older Women's Network in Queensland, following the success of the Network in New South Wales, and that such a network would provide women information and support in areas such as health, financial management, myths of ageing, and so on.

Information tri-fold brochure, printed on both sides in purple and black. It provides information on what the Women's Information Service is and does, and lists the various issues about which women might like to have more information, such as health, pension rights, affirmative action, sex discrimination, legal aid, child care, domestic violence and employment. The back page contains a map of where to find the Women's Information Service on Adelaide Street in Brisbane.

White pages with black, purple and green print. The second issue of a newsletter published in July, 1992, by the Women's Policy Unit, part of the Office of the Cabinet of Queensland. The newsletter informs of what the Unit is doing, what women in other regions and communities across Queensland are doing, and also provides information on government services and women's organisations. The front page features an article introducing the Queensland Women's Consultative Council. The back page has articles on the purpose of the Office of the Status of Women, as well as the Women's Policy Unit's trips to regional and rural Queensland communities. Inner pages include articles on Brisbane groups promoting the needs of women from non-English speaking backgrounds residing in Queensland, the Women's Health Policy Unit and women's health initiatives in Queensland, and an overview of the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act 1991.
