Residence, Wellington Point

One ink line drawing on tracing paper with pencil annotations. Client: Residence for Mr [and] Mrs Andrews, Douro Road, Wellington Point. Brief: Family home with larger than normal volume space. Vaulted ceilings provided seamless wall to ceiling transition. The plan form was generated from the need to preserve a large tree. Double brick walls provided thermal mass.

This volume is from the Enduring Architecture Award address by Graeme Thiedeke in 2016. The award was for the Good Shephard Chapel that he designed in 1963 for Bishopsbourne in Hamilton, Brisbane. At that time he was employed the architects AH Conrad and TBF Gargett. Volume 55 of the series Landscape of Memories written by Thiedeke in 2016.

Project no. 712.07 Somerset College Stage 1

Ink line drawings on paper. From the Title Block: The Davis Heather Group, architects and planners. Client: Steering Committee. Brief: Design and Documentation. A private secondary school was planned on donated land at Mudgeeraba, Gold Coast. Funding was not forthcoming and so the completed design and documentation of the project was abstained. The site was on a west sloping ridge and the site layout was influenced by Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, which in turn had been influenced by Monte Alban in Mexico. Despite funding at a later date, the Davis Heather Group were not involved in the project. Comprises: 1 volume of 16 leaves (including cover page) previously staped together (staples removed); 15 working drawings, sequentially numbered WD.01 to WD.15; written on cover page "Office copy"; each working drawing stamped "For tendering only".

Presentation volume set of four plans for King Neptune Restaurant, located on 2247 Granville Street, Vancouver. Drawn by GH and GJT for Erickson Massey Architects. Stapled together (staples removed). Client: Restauranteur. Brief: Concept design for a seafood restaurant; the essence being to capture of the character of timber wharf structures on the Fraser River; the ships, trains and piles of logs.
