History of the Foundation.

Copy of a typescript, written 12 months after the establishment of FAIRA, detailing the purpose of the organisation, as well as the Foundation's key people, sources of funding, areas of spending, and projects. Ends with an appeal to churches to help financially support the Foundation to keep it operating. First page has a black and white illustration of an elder conversing with a boy under a tree.

This file is comprised of a folder of 101 negatives, 11 x 7 cm. Images of mostly landscapes, with some of ships, workers at a building site, local indigenous people, what appears to be a WWII memorial. Original box marked 'New Guinea' and appeared to have the name 'Reg Sly' in pencil on the back.

Blackisms.

Copy of a double-sided leaflet with black type on white paper. The front has an illustration of five Aboriginal Australian boys with their arms around each other. Above and below the illustration are the words 'Blackisms: black is never having any friends except your cousins'. The rest of the page is filled with statements in small print about what it means to be black ('Black is a way of life', 'black is knowing this land is our land', and so on). On the back is a list of items for sale, such as FAIRA badges and t-shirts, Aboriginal flag pins and bags, and various publications pertaining to Aboriginal affairs.

Handmade book of 16 short fictional stories relating to Australians in the Boer War, bound in stiff paper wrappers. Handwritten title, copyright and contents page in black pen. 'Purely imaginary!' noted in pen at the bottom of the title page. Book constructed from cuttings of stories from The Leader published throughout 1899 and 1900, pasted on backing paper, with handwritten titles. Handwritten annotations and corrections throughout. Titles of the stories, listed in order presented on contents page: 'The kiss of battle'; 'Miss Simpson's hero'; 'The bull of the regiment'; 'The corporal's comrade'; 'Compatriots'; 'The scout'; 'John Jones, bushman'; 'St Patrick and another'; 'Them 'Straliens'; 'Commandeered'; 'A coward's courage'; 'A veldt idyll'; 'Worth threepence and a fortune'; 'A soldiers of the bush'; 'The temptation of Anthony'; and 'Bettje's mission'.
