The personal papers of Gertrude Langer (1908 – 1984) include diaries, correspondence, photographs, manuscripts and typescripts, notebooks and ephemera, including exhibition catalogues. The papers cover the period 1917 – 1984 including correspondence received between 1918 and 1984. The material from before 1938 includes papers relating to her Art History studies in Vienna and Paris as well as photographs taken during her travels in Europe. From 1929 onwards the papers include correspondence to and from her future husband Karl Langer (married in 1932), as well as photographs of their travels together. Correspondence and records from 1938 and early 1939 document the Langers’ escape from German-annexed Austria. Material after 1939 documents Gertrude Langer’s activities as a private art history educator and as an art critic in Brisbane. This material includes her lecture notes, lists of students attending the classes, printed ephemera, manuscripts and typescripts of her art reviews for the Courier Mail newspaper, as well as annotated exhibition catalogues. The papers also contain Arts Council of Australia and Queensland Art Gallery Society records, as well as material created by her husband Karl Langer. This includes correspondence received by him between 1922 and 1969, staff cards from his architectural firm (1950s), ephemera as well as sketch plans and architectural drawings for the Langers’ residence in St Lucia (1950).

Newspaper cuttings books relating to career of Sir James Blair, 1902-1939 (cuttings not dated). Also includes some personal papers of E.J.D. Stanley.

Correspondence, minutes, reports, bulletins, flyers, photographs and notes relating to the Trades and Labor Council of Queensland and its Secretary from 1952 until 1969, Alex Macdonald. Includes Labour Day flyers from the 1890s and anti-conscription flyers and posters from World War One.

It includes: material produced by the Trades and Labor Council or directly relating to TLC activities, mainly in the postwar period; TLC material and material relating to political and industrial issues in which the TLC was involved; material produced by or relating to the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU), individual Australian trade unions and the international peak trade union bodies; documents and publications relating to pre-World War Two trade union history including Queensland trade union history, Australian trade union history, and international trade union history; and documents, newspapers and newspaper cuttings relating to the Communist Party of Australia and world communism, 1968-1969 which is mainly concerned with CPA congresses and CPA deliberations over the direction of the Party and world communism, particularly in relation to events in Czechoslovakia.

The collection contains material relating to Queensland Country Press and in particular the Dunn family of Maryborough, Rockhampton and Toowoomba who initially traded as A. Dunn and Family and were incorporated in 1957 as A. Dunn and Company Pty. Ltd. They were substantial shareholders in Provincial Newspapers (Qld.) Ltd. which controlled nine regional daily newspapers.

The diaries record daily work done at the Station; weather and rainfall records are also sometimes included.
The financial and other records relate to both the station and the butcheries.
