Minutes

Minutes of The Pauline Hanson Support Movement from its inaugural meeting on 27 October 1996 to the meeting of 21 March 1997. The minutes are recorded in a minute book, accompanied by separate loose duplicates of the minutes of some of the meetings. The subseries also includes three copies of the typed and signed minutes of the meeting at Sydney Airport on 23 February 1997 at which Pauline Hanson, David Ettridge and David Oldfield resolved to form a political party called Pauline Hanson's One Nation.

Speeches, statements and articles

Typed and handwritten speeches; statements and opinion articles written for publication, and an audio recording on audiocassette of Bruce Whiteside's speech at the launch of The Pauline Hanson Support Movement on 28 October 1996 (housed as Item 1). Although most of the speeches were written by and for Bruce Whiteside, the file also contains scripts of speeches by Paul Trewartha, Terry Sharples and Iris Whiteside. Some of Whiteside's speeches were written after he was expelled from the organisation. Although often unattributed, the statements and opinion articles appear to have been written by Whiteside.

Ephemera

Event publicity and invitations, membership forms, stickers and other promotional ephemera, copies of the published version of Pauline Hanson's maiden parliamentary speech, and a copy of Bruce Whiteside's speech at the launch of the Support Movement

Correspondence 2000s

Correspondence relating to the formation, governance and operation of Pauline Hanson's One Nation. Most of the file consists of letters from and to Bruce Whiteside, but it also contains some correspondence between third parties. Correspondents include Terry Sharples, Tom King, Max Aleckson, Lindon Litchfield and Tony Abbott.
