Contracts with Thomas Nelson and Drafts of 'The Drunken Rhyme' [novel]

The original folder was titled 'Contracts, Novels'. It contains two copies of a contract between Kath Walker and Thomas Nelson for a literary work to be entitled 'New poems', undated. In the folder are two typescript drafts of the novel 'The Drunken Rhyme' (one copy with 10 chapters and one with 11).

This file contains letters to Kath Walker from school children, teachers and university students. Some letters by Kath Walker to school children and teachers are included. Many are letters from children thanking her for visiting their school and sharing her stories. Correspondents are teachers and students from various schools including: Bremer State High School, Woondall Heights State Primary School (Wynnum, Qld.), and Dunwich State School (Dunwich, Qld.).

One folder has newspaper cuttings from 1978 to 1979 with the original folder marked "Uranium". Also included in this folder is undated newspaper cuttings. The second folder contains cuttings from 1976 to 1981 featuring articles about statements made by Kath Walker regarding the Aboriginal cause.
