Correspondence

This series contains a large amount of incoming correspondence. The correspondence covers the broad range of Oodgeroo Noonuccal's activities and interests. It covers her activities as a writer and guest speaker. There is correspondence from Aboriginal organisations, government departments, school students, teachers, universities and letters of appreciation for her work. The bulk of the correspondence is in the 1970s and 1980s. Correspondence is also scattered in various files throughout the collection. The correspondence is mostly incoming letters with only a small number of outgoing letters.

Papers relating to overseas trips

Kath Walker travelled overseas on several occasions to attend conferences, as an official Australian delegate for committees, on speaking tours, lecturing and as a poet-in-residence. Included in this series are her files from her trips to New Zealand (1972), Malaysia (1974), Nigeria (in 1974 and 1977), North America (1978-1979) and Fiji (1980).

Subject files

The series contains material collected by Kath Walker relating to her involvement in numerous organisations and issues. These files generally contain a variety of materials, often accompanied by corresondence, such as leaflets, newsletters, minutes of meetings, reports, and ephemera.

Academic works

Tania Peitzker studied at the University of Queensland, undertaking a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in the 1990s. This series is comprised of material relating to her fourth year honours project. It includes annotated copies of printouts of journal articles, notes, correspondence, drafts of her report 'Toward the construction of a lesbian history in Australia : dyke intellectuals of the liberation movements and their influence on sexual politics today' and her honours thesis 'Questions of politics in the "moment" of the Australian journal of cultural studies : a genealogy of interdisciplinary knowledge and practice in Australia" (1994). Where possible original folders have been retained; material relating to Tania Peitzker's nomination for Australian Historical Association Prize for Australian History; material relating to Queer Collaborations conference, Brisbane, 2-9 July 1994; and a hard bound copy of her PhD dissertation 'Dymphna Cusack (1902-1981) : a feminist analysis of gender in her romantic realistic texts' (2000).

Creative works

This series is comprised of the creative works, published and unpublished, of Tania Peitzker including her poems, plays, novels, satirical essays, journal artices and short stories.

Art ephemera

Art exhibition ephemera including invitations, fliers and price lists. Some signed or annotated.

Reports and sketch plans

This series is comprised of the reports and plans related to visits by Norman F Nelson and Joshua Thomas Robinson to the four mission stations owned by Presbyterian Church of Queensland. The typescript reports by Nelson and the sketch plans for each mission by Robinson and Nelson precede the photographs related to that part of the journey or the mission station.
