The series is comprised mostly of correspondence relating to publishing and publishers, and literary associations.

There is material associated with or acquired during the finalising of the estate of Gertrude Langer, which John Riedel assisted with. It includes a diary, correspondence relating to the Langer's, eulogies and notes about Gertrude Langer, a copy of her will, newspaper cuttings, and photographs.

1939 diary belonging to Gertrude Langer. Handwritten notes begin from July 21. July 27 is the day the Langer's arrived in Brisbane.

There are thirty six colour photographs which include photographs of: Gertrude Langer on holidays, the memorial seat and Rhyl Hinwood sculpture of Gertrude Langer (1986), Ute Heinen who wrote his thesis on Gertrude Langer; and photographs taken by John Riedel when he went to the Langer house after the death of Gertrude (1984). There are twenty black and white photographs of Karl and Gertrude Langer. Many of the photographs are undated. Some dates from 1935 to 1959.

Notes made by John Riedel when he sorted through the Langer house at St.Lucia in 1984. 37 leaves. Includes 12 photographs.

This series contains papers and correspondence associated with John Riedel, including cards from Gertrude Langer to him, 1983-1985. There is also a photocopy of a letter written by Gertrude Langer replying to a letter from Kathe and Walter from London, ca. 1959.

Three photographs of Kathleen Campbell Brown, and some newspaper cuttings relating to her. One of the photographs is her with grotesque carved by Rhyl Hinwood.

This series is comprised of loose photographs and two photograph albums of photographs, mostly black and white; mostly comprised of photographs that relate to Bruce Green in his role as Assistant Registrar of the University of Queensland.

Item 1
The first album, with the initials of H.B.G, was presented to Bruce Green on the 12 Dec 1980 as part of his retirement; it is comprised mostly of black and white prints; this album is a photographic history of the early life of Bruce Green and the University of Queensland. Earlier dated photographs in the album are photographs of photographs (not originals). It has 49 black and white prints and 12 colour prints. This album has three hole pages with transparent film overlaying pages that have a sticky surface to which the photograph adheres and is held in a ring binder folder. (Item 1)

The second photograph album is comprised of: holiday photographs; views of the 1974 floods; work related photographs, including the visit by Malcolm Fraser to the St. Lucia campus; four photographs from Qantas with a business card for Sabina J. McKenzie. This album is a spiral bound Magic Magnet Photo Album with transparent film overlaying pages with a sticky surface to which the photograph adheres. It has 24 colour photographs and 16 black and white photographs. (Item 2) Inserted in this album are 3 leaves of thumbnail of photographs from what appears to be a birthday celebration for Nina Green.

The folders contain: letters of congratulations for many of Bruce Green's success and promotions from the University of Queensland staff and from the broader community; carbon copies of Bruce Green's replies; certificates (birth extract, qualifications, service awards from the Second World War; drafts of thank you speeches; interview transcripts from 1982; pay and superannuation information; and other personal correspondence. Dates: ca. 1969 to 1981.

This series is comprised of newspaper cuttings relating to Bruce Green and Bruce and Nina Green. There are a few invitations and ephemeral items. The cuttings were in five commercial photograph albums. The cuttings and ephemera from three of the these albums have been rehoused into archival sleeves and are housed in a folder. Two of the albums were retained as they have transparent film overlaying pages that have a sticky surface to which the newspaper cuttings have adhered.
