Feedback on Shadow sister [motion picture]

Letters and cards from students who saw the film Shadow sister. Shadow sister is a film biography of Aboriginal poet Kath Walker, produced and directed by Frank Heimans, photographed by Geoff Burton and produced by Cinetel Productions. According to the flyer for the film "This film looks intimately at Kath Walker the person, and gives us a glimpse of how the Australian aborigines love and respect all natural aspects of their native land".

Material connected to Shadow sister [motion pitcture]

This file includes letters, flyers, media releases, story outline for film, reservation forms to 'attend the screening of the film and meet Kath Walker' and newspaper cuttings relating to the film Shadow Sister. Shadow Sister : a film biography of Aboriginal Poet Kath Walker, M.B.E. was produced and directed by Frank Heinmans of Cinetel Productions. The film premiered at the Sydney Opera House in November 1977 to 6000 people, mostly school children.

Papers relating to North America

Kath Walker conducted a study tour of the United States from September 1978 to March 1979 as a Fullbright Scholar. Her itinerary was divided into two sections: first, she was Poet-in-Residence at Bloomsbury State College from 1 October 1978; and from January 1979, sponsored by the National Endownment for the Arts, she was centred on Berkeley and other Southern campuses, Indian communities and Arts Centres. Included in these papers are: Letters of appreciation, photographs, postcards, programme for speaking engagements; her report on Fulbright Scholarship; correspondence 1978 - 1979 about the Scholarship and from North American contacts; travel documents; flyers; and newspaper cuttings.
