Typescript transciption from Asiatic Journal and Monthly Register for British India and Its Dependencies (vol. [10], issue [39], pages 244-248) of a letter from 'An Old Indian Officer', written 25 Jan 1833, commenting on an article that appeared in the Dec 1832 'Asiatic Journal' opposing the penal settlement at Moreton Bay. The writer is in favour of the settlement for the assistance it may afford shipwrecked mariners.
