Rescue the rainforests : write now!

A postcard with with supplementary information on rainforests and the threats to their preservation on a card extension, with a line of perforation between the two so that the postcard section can be detached. The cover picture on the postcard is of ferns with the line "Rescue the rainforests", and when folded, the edge of the extension adds "Write now!", in italics, to this line. The postcard is addressed to the "Mr Joh Bjelke-Petersen, Premier of Queensland", and the photograph is credited to Colin Totterdall. There is space for a personal message, and a square on the top right-hand corner for a stamp to be added.

Tropical rainforest - the last chance.

Brochure on the condition of the Daintree area in North Queensland, and a proposal to expand the area which has National Park status. It includes coloured photographs of the area and local fauna, and a map showing existing and proposed National Park boundaries. The far right quarter has a vertical dotted line to indicate that it should be detached, and spaces for a person to fill in personal information and donation pledges and return to the Australian Conservation Foundation.

Vote environment today - save Australia tomorrow.

Postcard; the picture on the front is of Salt Lake, Great Victorian Desert, WA, credited to Ted Mead. It has the text "Vote environment today : save Australia tomorrow" across it. The back is self-addressed to Australian Conservation Foundation, and has the text of a "Save Australia" pledge on the left side, with space to be signed by a local Member of Parliament. There is a square on the upper right corner to attach a stamp to.

Save Mt Etna petition : to the Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative assembly in Queensland in Parliament assembled.

Petition to Queensland Parliament to protect Mt Etna and its caves from destruction by Queensland Cement Limited. It states that the petition was started in "November, 1988". More than half of the page is occupied by horizontal lines divided into three columns titled "Name (please print)", "Address", and "Signature". These lines do not contain any text. At the bottom there is a note to "Please return completed forms to ACF,", with an address.

Earth first! Rainforest roadshow.

Flier about a "Rainforest Roadshow" to be held at Abel Smith Lecture Theatre, Queensland University, on Wednesday, 2nd December, at 7:30 pm, organised by the Australian Conservation Foundation. The film "Earth First" is to be screened, and speakers and musicians feature also. About two-thirds of the page has a rainforest line drawing as a background, and the ink is black on green paper. Additional guests are named: Peter McDade, Gabrielle Luft, John Seed, and Friends from the Rainforest Information Centre, Lismore.

Topic of Capricorn, March 1986 newsletter no. 21.

Issue of "The Tropic of Capricorn", the newsletter of Capricorn Conservation Council. The front of the newsletter describes it as "March, 1986 edition, Newsletter No 21, Registered Publication No. QBH 37509". The front page is a full-page hand drawing of a waterhole surrounded by trees with mountains in the distance, and various native fauna, with text superimposed over it. It has a sticker with the direction "Trades and Labour Council of Qld" and the name of the General Secretary and mailing address. The articles describe various locations in Australia and give updates on the activity concerning them, whether deemed to be harmful or not to the environment.
