Brief: Design a 'Disney' experience for the whole family with an underlying story to be discovered as part of the experience. Funding was not available (including Architects fees). Not built.

Comprises: Thirteen pencil line drawings on tracing paper, 26 x 36 cm and smaller, undated. Eight pencil/ink line drawings on tracing paper, 59 x 84 cm, 1985-1986, from the Title Block the architect and planners are the Heather Thiedeke Group, and the client is the Catholic Parish, Surfers Paradise. Brief: Design and Documentation. The original St. Vincents church in Surfers Paradise was demolished when the main Parish church moved to Broadbeach Waters and became The Sacred Heart Church. A new St. Vincents church retained the inner city presence. It was built to a tight budget and severe site restrictions (ambient noise management). The structure used tilt panel walls (then a new technology). This plan also featured a radial layout with a sloping floor for optimum visibility.

Eleven architectural drawings. Client: Kuala Lumpur developer. Brief: Design, documentation. Job: Residence for Tan Sri Low, Jalan Duta, Kuala Lumpur. Dated 23 Oct 1997. The residence was in distinct zones - one as a private residence and the other for public functions. The total of the floor area for all levels was over 6000ms. Thiedeke never saw the finished product.

Three drawings on paper (ink link drawings on coloured paper) for the Marks Residence. Brief: Contemporary interpretation of the authentic abode 'Pueblo' style. The site was in the old part of Santa Fe where 'Pueblo' houses still existed. Working drawings for construction were all free hand due to the geometry. Designed in clay, then drawn. It was commissioned on the basis of the model. Dates Nov 1971. Elevations, floor plans.

Five architectural drawings (ink line drawing on paper, photocopied). Client: 'Casa Clapp', Retired American tea merchant. Brief: Design, documentation, construction; the brief was given to Thiedeke on the back of an envelope with the words 'Taj Mahal'. The building was never fully built. Working drawings sequentially numbered WD. 1 to WD.5. Dated Feb 1971.

Two architectural drawings (ink line drawings on paper, photocopied). Client: Philip Pittluck, New York accountant. Brief: Design, documentation and construction of a residence for a retired couple; Budget $40k. This was the second commission within the town centre that was designed by Thiedeke. With a cement shortage, Thiedeke used bovedas. The house replaced an adobe ruin. Footings were one metre of deep stone wall to absorb earthquake movement; walls were single brick infill, concrete ring beams top and bottom, concrete columns poured within wall thickness; and roof was brick vaulting.

Three working drawings (ink line drawing on paper, photocopied). Client: John and Linda Keogh. Brief: Design, documentation and construction of a residence/studio for renowned Canadian puppeteers. This was the first architectural commission Thiedeke did in Mexico. Due to a cement shortages at the time, Thiedeke had to rethink the concrete roof as a semi circular brick vault (Boveda). This was achieved without formwork and finished within one week. Using bovedas revived a tradition that had all but disappeared. Working drawings sequentially numberd WD.1 to WD-3. Two architectural drawings (ink line drawings on paper). Client: New York film producer, Tibetan art collector. Brief: House that fuses cultures. The architecture of neighbouring regional towns often have Asian aesthetics. This experimental design, given a Japanese form, emerged as pure Mexican. Mexican pyramids are the base for temples and there are two 'temples': 1. living areas and 2. master bed, built on a stone pyramidal base, housing 2nd and 3rd bedrooms. The living room 'temple' structure was constructed from 80-year-old telephone poles.

Brief: Design and documentation of a three storey, beachfront complex of two x three bed apartments plus roof garden and basement. This was to be on the last undeveloped beach house site on Main Beach Parade. It was not built. Project number 814.83. Working drawings numbered: WD.01 to WD.08; WD.13 to WD.14; and WD27 to WD.28. Dated 10 Mar 1989 to 28 Aug 1989.

From the Title Block: The Heather Thiedeke Group, architects and planners. Clients: Michael Edgely; Terry Page; Fultonborough Pty Ltd. . Brief: A beach house capable of entertaining visiting international cultural groups, especially the Moscow Circus and Russian Ballet. The inspiration for the design was primarily the sand castle. A sculptured form reflecting the contours of the beach landscape. The brief required the maximum utilisation of available site area, hence the 'box' configuration. It had a variety of owners and international celebrity guests in its 27-year lifespan. It was demolished in the last 2010s. Various Project numbers: 811-161, 811-224, 811-225.
