Includes photographs of Australian authors, the 1893 Brisbane floods, and Mornington Island (Queensland). There are also a number of photographs of Papua New Guinea which were originally in the Beazley collection (UQFL271). Other photographs of Queensland people and places can be found in UQFL479.

Photographs, typescript articles, correpondence, diaries, notes and ephemera documenting personal experiences of colonial administration and general life in Papua New Guinea. The collection was assembled by Dr Peter Cahill, from material donated by members of the Papua New Guinea Association of Australia. Some slides of the Middle East, Australia, England and Ireland.

Photographs, diaries, correspondence, maps, journals, publications, annual reports, typescripts, articles relating to Papua New Guinea by Arthur Lyons, John Murphy, Daphne Winnifred Lyons, and others.

Two hundred and twenty five photographs (mostly black and white photographs), eighteen real photo postcards, and four 35 mm negatives. These photographic images are mostly taken Papua New Guinea, mainly depicting Bulolo gold fields. Many of the photographs have been taken by Wally Doe or feature him (and his wife Billie). Handwritten identifying notes on the back of most photographs; some of these notes are by John Murphy.

Accompanied by one album, 14 x 20 cm, with 23 black and white photographs with a typescript note pasted to the front cover with information about what became of the dredges during the Second World War. These photographs have been attached to the pages using photo corners; it appears some may have been removed or lost at some time.

This file is comprised of a folder of 101 negatives, 11 x 7 cm. Images of mostly landscapes, with some of ships, workers at a building site, local indigenous people, what appears to be a WWII memorial. Original box marked 'New Guinea' and appeared to have the name 'Reg Sly' in pencil on the back.

Bound album of black and white photographs. Appears to be a record of Appel's voyage while Home Secretary in the Queensland Government Steamer "Otter" in 1914 which went as far north as Daru on the coast of south-western Papua.
