New Archbishop's Chapel at 'Farsley', Eldernell Tce, Hamilton

Completed during Thiedeke's fourth year (of a six year course) of architectural studies with the firm AH Conrad & TBF Gargett (aka Conrad Gargett). Conrad Gargett practised active engagement and on site training for their intern students. This was Thiedeke's first project from concept to finished building, including specification and contract administration. It was influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright. It received an Enduring Architecture award in 2018. The structure was steel frame, stone clad walls and copper roof sheeting. It was built in 1964. Also called the Chapel of the Good Shepherd, it is at 39 Eldernell Terrace, Hamilton, Queensland.

'No margin for error' is a typescript of a television lay by Adeline Collier and Madelaine Duke, what was adapted from the novel by Madelaine Duke, 68 numbered leaves, undated. The novel was published in 1963. On the title page the name and address of Christopher Mann has been crossed out and Dorothy Blewett's name and her Eltham address handwritten.

Constitutional and Incorporation Documents

As the new president of the Arts Council of Australia (Queensland Division), Gertrude Langer took an active role in shaping the direction of the Queensland Division. Part of this was to negotiate with the Arts Council of Australia (New South Wales Division) regarding the possibility of a Federal Arts Council with a Federal constitution. This negotiation consists of correspondence between Gertrude Langer and Gordon Horswell. The Arts Council of Australia (Queensland Division) drew up articles of association and there are five annotated drafts. The final result is a copy of the Constitution dated 31 December 1963. Drafts (typescript and handwritten) of the aims and objectives of the Arts Council of Australia (Queensland Division) are also included.

This file comprises 7 letters. Two letters with first day issues envelopes are circulars from the Royal Geographical Society of Australia (Queensland), dated 1955 and 1957. Two letters from E Galvin with first day cover envelopes, 1960 and 1963. Two handwritten letters from 'Nell' with souvenir envelopes, dated 1963. One handwritten letter from Nell to Mary mentioning enclosing the letter in a Henry Lawson first day of issue envelope; attached a Henry Lawson envelope addressed to Jean Brown, postmarked 1949.
