Newspaper cuttings, 1939 to 1985

This file consists of one school exercise book of newspaper cuttings featuring Kath Walker and a folder one folder of newspaper cuttings, many undated, on various subjects related to Aboriginal civil and human rights. Articles about her political statements with miscellaneous articles about other Aboriginal people, and about the poor living conditions, education and welfare of Aboriginal people throughout Australia. Some articles on other Aboriginal activists.

Moongalba: correspondence

This file includes correspondence (over two folders) regarding the establishment and running of Moongalba from: the Queensland Land Administration Commission; Parliament of Australia. The Senate; Queensland Department of Education; Redland Shire Council; Aboriginal Arts Board; various schools, some arranging visits to Moongalba; and supporters. There is also a folder of notes and correspondence titled 'Historical documents'. There is also correspondence, in the second folder on grants for tourism, incorporation of Moongalba, and letters from various Government Departments.

Papers relating to overseas trip to Malaysia

Kath Walker was the Australian delegate at the International Writers' Conference (Hari Sasra) in Malaysia, 1974. This file includes:
correspondence between Department of Foreign Affairs and Australian High Commission, Kuala Lumpur; newspaper cuttings, 'Report of the Malaysian visit' by Kath Walker (August 1974), menu, 'Welcome' booklet for the conference (with annotations), certificate (of attendance), and invitations. It also includes two exhibition catalogues (one inscribed) and a book of poems (inscribed). Some material is in Malay.
