This file consists of one school exercise book of newspaper cuttings featuring Kath Walker and a folder one folder of newspaper cuttings, many undated, on various subjects related to Aboriginal civil and human rights. Articles about her political statements with miscellaneous articles about other Aboriginal people, and about the poor living conditions, education and welfare of Aboriginal people throughout Australia. Moongalba was established on North Stradbroke Island, by Kath Walker as a cultural education centre in 1971 with the aid of the Aboriginal Arts Board administration grants. It was visited extensively by school children, as well as teachers, students, academics, writers and others. Kath Walker was initially granted a twenty-five year lease to the land by the Redland Shire Council; this was later extended to her lifetime. However, she was never granted legal title to the land, despite the support of many influential people. In 1979 Kath Walker prepared a submission to the federal Department of Aboriginal Affairs, requesting financial assistance and support in obtaining title to the land. Her application was never answered.

This notebook is falling apart and tied together with a shoelace. Written on the inside cover of this notebook is 'S. Coolwell. Days Store. Dunwich.' It contains lists of groceries and their prices and totals. There are no dates for this section of the notebook . Inserted at back of the notebook are pages with lists for charcoal orders from 1940 to 1942

Exercise notebook with handwritten lists of names, an agenda (with Kath Walker as president), possible fundraising events, a page with 'sporting gear in my possession', and a design for 'leave straddie unabridged'.

This Kingfisher account book was used to record the names of donors and what physical resources and/or cash they had given to Moongalba beginning in 1972 to 1974. At the back of the book there are rough balance sheets from July 1972 to July 1976 with some loose receipts and invoices included.

This file includes correspondence (over two folders) regarding the establishment and running of Moongalba from: the Queensland Land Administration Commission; Parliament of Australia. The Senate; Queensland Department of Education; Redland Shire Council; Aboriginal Arts Board; various schools, some arranging visits to Moongalba; and supporters. There is also a folder of notes and correspondence titled 'Historical documents'. There is also correspondence, in the second folder on grants for tourism, incorporation of Moongalba, and letters from various Government Departments.
