Included in diary are transcriptions by Emma of her brother's diary of a voyage from Ireland to Queensland in the ship Sir William Wallace, June-Sept 1882, and another diary written by her other brother Fred W. Hewson from Ireland to Queensland aboard the ship Merkara, Oct-Dec 1882.
