History

George Gerald Hutton was born on 20 November 1868 at Mt Rouse, Victoria to parents William George and Elizabeth Ann (nee Whitehead) Hutton. He was an articled pupil of G.H.M. (George Henry Male) Addison, Brisbane, around 1888 before travelling to England and Europe for 2 years. Employed by the Queensland Government from 1897 to 1922. In 1922 he was in partnership with Lange Leopold Powell as Powell and Hutton until 1924. He continued to practice as an architect until 1937. He died on 30 May 1953.
