Hospital Employees' Federation of Australia Queensland Branch (1970- ).
Objectives - To protect, improve and foster the best interests of the members and to uphold the rights of organization of labour; to protect the conditions of labour, the relations between employees and between employers and employees; to promote the welfare of members; to publish a journal and other publications; to secure satisfactory remuneration, hours and general conditions by action under any Arbitration or other Act; to use all reasonable and proper means to redress grievances; to provide legal assistance for members; to assist members or their families; to assist kindred organizations in upholding workers' rights and in the emancipacion of labour subject to approval of the Australian Labor Party and the Trades and Labor Council; to further the social enjoyment of members.

Notes: The predecessors of this union were the Asylum and Prison Officers Association (? - 1915), the Asylum Employees Federation (1915-1920) and the Hospital Employees Union (1920-1970). Amalgamation with the federal body in 1970 led to the formation of the present union.
