Biographical history

Leonard Radic was born Melbourne and studied English at the University of Melbourne, where he also edited the student magazine Farrago. He was the theatre critic for The Age from 1974 to 1994. Radic wrote several plays. With his wife Thérèse Radic he wrote Some of My Best Friends Are Women, a compilation of songs and readings on the theme of Australian women. Radic also edited the two-volume collection Short Plays for the Australian Stage (1987) and wrote a critical account of Australian theatre, The State of Play. The Revolution in the Australian Theatre since the 1960s (1991).
