The aim of the Sunshine Coast Women's Crisis Service Inc. was to provide an environment where women can be given the information and support they need to make independent, informed choices for themselves and their children relating to domestic violence, rape and incest. The Domestic violence component of the service was state and federally funded under the Supported Accommodation Assistance Program (SAAP). The rape and incest component of the service was funded through the Women's Health Policy Unit. They were a non-government agency staffed by women and managed by a committee drawn from the community. Dates of existence are approximate dates gleaned from first and last known recorded mention of the Sunshine Coast Women's Crisis Service Inc.
