Country and Progressive National Party (1925-1936). Formerly the Country Progressive Party (1925). Became the Queensland Country Party (1936-1961) and the United Australia Party (1936-1943).
Objectives - Reform of the land laws, encouragement of primary and secondary industry, individual effort as opposed to nationalization of industry, supremacy of the Arbitration Court in industrial matters, review of all taxation burdensome to primary and secondary industry, greater facilities for education, protection of sugar and cotton industries and railway reform.

Notes: The Country and Progressive National Organisation of Queensland was the extra-parliamentary wing of this Party. The Country Party of Queensland and the United Party announced a coalition in 1924 and merged in 1925 to form the Country Progressive Party. Some United Party members were excluded from the new party and formed the National Party. When they were admitted the Country Progressive Party became the Country and Progressive National Party and it retained the earlier party's objectives and policies. It was funded by a Brisbane and southern business group, the National Union. The party contested the 1926 elections and lost However, it formed a government from 1929 to 1932. The coalition was ended and the Party dissolved in 1936.
