Established in 1981, the gallery is a publicly owned non-collecting gallery funded by Noosa Council. The gallery also administers an annual scholarship known as the Noosa Regional Gallery Travelling Scholarship. It consists of three bursaries that provides professional development opportunities through travel for artists and designers of the Sunshine Coast.
