History

In December 1915, the Passenger and Goods Lift Attendants and the Watchmen, Caretakers and Cleaners Unions of New South Wales joined with the Watchmen, Caretakers and Male Office Cleaners' Union of Victoria to form The Federated Miscellaneous Workers Union of Australia (FMWU). With J. Coote as the first General Secreary In 1992, the Federal Councils of the Miscellaneous Workers Union and the Liquor Trades Union endorsed a proposal to amalgamate and become the Australian Liquor Hospitality & Miscellaneous Workers Union.
