Fred Paterson had a long career as barrister, parliamentarian and member of the Australian Communist Party. He read Classics at the University of Queensland, and became the University's Rhodes Scholar for 1919. After studying Theology at Oxford University, he returned to study Law at Queensland University. He was elected MLA for Bowen for three consecutive terms, running for the Communist Party.

Fedora was a long time active member of Friends of Fryer, back when the Friends, were bringing instrumental in getting manuscript material for the Fryer Library. She and her husband Len Fisher, secured for the Fryer Library the papers of Sir Raphael Cilento, John Cooper, Dick Roughsey and Percy Trezise, and the McConnel Family.

Transcript of talk with Len Fisher, President of the Alumni Association, University of Queensland. He reminisces about his early days at the University, particularly in reference to his association with P.R. (Inky) Stephensen. Accompanied by a transcript of a talk with Fedora Fisher, Aug 24, 1973 about the attempted suppression of Frank Hardy's novel Power without glory, and typed biographical notes, transcribed from a number of talks with him, by Fedora Fisher. Also, one handwritten letter to Len Fisher.
