Biographical history

Born Allan Edwin Halladay on 28 May 1937 in Nipawin, Saskatchewan, Canada. He earned a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Social Work and a Masters of Social Work at the University of British Columbia. He migrated to Australia after gaining a scholarship to complete a PhD at the Australian National University in Canberra. He worked as a social work lecturer at the University of Queensland from 1975 to 1995, rising to the position of Head of the Department of Social Work before retiring. He died in Canberra on 25 January 2017.
