Scope and content

Acrylic on canvas painting, titled Kinyingarra 3, by Luana Walker and Talisah Edwards. The artists are Quandamooka women and Oodgeroo Noonuccal's grand-daughters. From the certificate of authenticity: "Kinyingarra 3 is our traditional name for oyster. We know that our oysters are fat and ready to collect when our native Hop bush is in flower. This is depicted in the painting with the red vine and the yellow marks. This represents a campsite - sit down place. The circle in the middle represents a waterhole. Aboriginal people have always recognized the importance of water."
