Artistic director, producer, choreographer, solist. Meryl Papas (nee Hughes) was a Borovansky ballerina. In 2005 she received an OAM for service to rhythmic gymnastics as a coach, choreographer and judge, and to the community. Died 28 December, 2016.

The file comprises:

  1. Dux exercise book with choreography for the opera "7 deadly sins" by Merly E. Hughes. The opera was based on the book by Thomas Shapcott. Hand drawn figure drawings for choreography movements glued and attached. Additional handwritten notes inserted. Undated.
  2. Typescript; lettercard; addressed: Miss Meryl Hughes, Bray Road, Lawton, post-dated 23 Apr 1970; from Colin [Brumby].
  3. Typescript, memorandum to Meryl, subject line is 'Tape of ballet music for "7 deadly sins"', from CB [Colin Brumby], undated.
  4. Flyer the seven deadly sins, "A new concept in musical theatre by Colin Brumby, Thomas Shapcott and Mervyn Moriarty." Presented by the Queensland Opera Company at SGIO Theatre, Sep., undated.
  5. Program for the seven deadly sins present by the Queensland Opera Co., book by Thomas Shapcott, music by Colin Brumby. 3 fold program: 32 x 48 cm folded to 32 x 16 cm. Lists performers and staff, including Meryl Hughes as choreographer.
