Biographical history
Dr Ross Patrick was born in Allora, studied medicine in Brisbane, and in 1947 was appointed Senior Medical Officer at Townsville Hospital. He became Director General of Health and Medical Services in 1969, President of the Medical Board, a member of the University of Queensland Senate, President of the Queensland Insititute of Medical Research, and a member of the National Health and Medical Research Council. After his retirement in 1978 he took up writing medical history.
