2 scrapbooks of newspaper cuttings collected by David Laws, relating to the Chapman gold expedition. Led by Charles Henry Chapman, of the Chapman Wills Boring Company of Roma, the expedition left Brisbane on 14 July 1932 in search of gold in the Northern Territory. Gold in payable quantities was found at The Granites, approximately 600km north-west of Alice Springs by the expedition.
