Biographical history

American-born Clayton Bourquin Bredt Junior, in either 1928 or 1929, to Clayton B. Bredt (1901-1977) and Madeline M. Bredt (1901-1999). He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan and did postgraduate work at the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. During the 1960s he was appointed as lecturer in Chinese history at the University of Queensland. He died in 1998 in Brisbane at the age of 69.
