Rolland (Rollie) Arthur Busch, born on 26 October 1920 in Brisbane, held a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in Philosophy (1951) and Master of Arts (1954) from the University of Queensland. He was a Professor of New Testament Studies, Trinity Theological College, 1978 to 1985, President and Principal of Emmanuel College, University of Queensland, 1961 to 1978, 1st Moderator of the Queensland Synod of the Uniting Church, President of the Assembly, 1982 to 1985, Chairman of the Board of Local Missions (Presbyterian Church of Queensland), 1970 to 1974, Convenor of the Department of Christian Education (Presbyterian Church of Queensland), 1960 to 1963, and Chaplain-General, 1968 to 1981.
