History

Joseph Craigie, also known as Joe Craigie, contributed to the linguistics research conducted by Gavan Breen in Dajarra and various other locations in Queensland during the late 1960s. He was thought to have been born in 1885 or 1886. He may have worked on Glengyle Station. He may have married Mary Topsy Kerr Craigie (1903-1967) in 1919 in Birdsville, and they had numerous children together, including a son named after him, called Joseph Samuel Craigie (1921-1977). Joe died on 30 October 1974 and was buried at Cloncurry.
