History

Harold Trevor Clifford, commonly known as Trevor Clifford, was a botanist and taxonomist born on 18 April 1927 in Melbourne. He attended the University of Melbourne, completing a Bachelor of Science (1948) and a Master of Science (1951). He completed his PhD (1956) at Durham University in England. He taught botany at the University of Queensland from 1958 until his retirement in 1992, at which point he was made Emeritus Professor. He went on to become a Research Associate attached to the Geology section of the Queensland Museum. He died on 4 May 2019 in Brisbane.
