History

Located between Ann and Adelaide Streets, Brisbane it was designed by architects Hall & Prenctice. The building was opened 8 April 1930 and the main auditorium was a popular venue for concerts, functions and balls. The Brisbane Symphony Orchestra was a regular performer, and the council sponsored many large concerts and recitals and the City Hall was the principal venue for the Queensland Symphony Orchestra until it moved to its new venue at the Queensland Performing Arts Complex.
