History

Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament ( Brisbane).
Objectives - To oppose all nuclear testing and storage of nuclear weapons in Australia; to encourage and support unilateral nuclear disarmament in any country as well as multilateral general disarmament and conversion of the Weapons Research Establishment at Woomera to peaceful research; to oppose foreign bases on Australian soil and alignment with any nuclear power; to co-operate and support all other C.N.D. organizations.
Publicists - Larry Drake, Roy Forward, Frank Fyfe, Janet Lewis, Mary Rooke, L. Tarnawski.
Note: The Brisbane C.N.D. constitution was changed in February 1964 to conform with that of Australian C.N.D. which was established at a conference in Sydney, December 1963. There is some uncertainty about when the campaign went under the name of the Queensland Committee of Australian Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.
