History

Brisbane Easter Aldermaston Walk Committee (1964). Also known as the Consultative Committee and the "Easter - Aldermaston" Committee.
Objectives - To organize a march from Ipswich to Brisbane to pinpoint the main target area in the event of a nuclear attack.
Notes: The committee was composed of twenty committees (including the Brisbane Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament) with the Queensland Peace Committee predominating. In 1963 Brisbane Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament organized the first Aldermaston march in Brisbane modelled on the British Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament's marches between London and Aldermaston. In 1965 an Aldermaston Relay Walk Committee organized the protest.
