Included in notebook are copies of parodies, comic verse, riddles. Included in diary are transcriptions by Emma of her brother's diary of a voyage from Ireland to Queensland in the ship Sir William Wallace, June-Sept 1882, and another diary written by her other brother Fred W. Hewson from Ireland to Queensland aboard the ship Merkara, Oct-Dec 1882.

Diary of a voyage from Glasgow to Moreton Bay. Entries continue in irregular fashion till 1864, when he was working at Gayndah.

Typescript copy of a letter to Chas. Hebden, Wanaaring Station, Paroo River. Letter was found with the possessions of B. S. Robinson who was found dead somewhere between Wandovale and Reedy Springs in March 1894. Accompanied by letter re the original "diary", from where the letter was copied.

Kept by Oswald Bloxsome on his voyage in the "Florentia" sailing vessel in 1838 to Australia with his wife and son , 4th April 1838 to 3rd Aug. 1838.
