History

The Queensland Builders' Labourers' Federation officially formed on 2 August 1910, when builders' labourers in Brisbane agreed to form a separate union and to federate with their like unions in other states. Despite being deregistered in other states in the 1970s, the BLF continued to operate autonomously in Queensland up until amalgamation with The Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU) in 2014.
