Australian Assembly for Peace Queensland Association (1956-1959). (Initially the Queensland Assembly Convening Committee).
Objectives - The peaceful development of Australia, improvement of relations with other countries and world disarmament.
Notes: The Australian Peace Council and the Peace Convention planned and co-ordinated the Australian Assembly for Peace in Sydney, September 8-11 1956. The Queensland contribution was organized by the Queensland Assembly Convening Committee Taking its name from the congress it remained in existence as a peace organization It was absorbed by the Queensland Peace Committee for International Co-operation and Disarmament in 1959.
