Women's Campaign for Abortion (1979-1981?).
Objectives - To oppose proposed Queensland legislation to further restrict availability of abortions (1979, 1980). Demands - repeal all abortion laws; free, safe abortion, contraception, and sterilization on demand; no forced sterilization; an end to 'conscience' vote provisions in party policies.

Notes: Formed by a coalition of women's groups including Children by Choice, Pregnancy Control, A.L.P. Women, Women's Abortion Action Campaign, the Australian Union of Students Women's Department and individuals. Formed a liaison committee with Working Women's Charter Committee to obtain trade union support. The campaign was active in Townsville, Toowoomba, Ipswich and Brisbane.

Objectives - To provide a viable alternative for women by offering information and support in areas including housing, the law, health, supporting mothers, battered wives, employment, rape.

Notes: Formed by The Women's Community Aid Association (itself formed in 1973). Incorporated or associated with Women's Health Centre, Women's Shelta, Rape Crisis Centre, Women's Library, Women's Media Group Such connections have varied Women's House was originally located at Red Hill. It moved to Roma Street In 1976 the withdrawal of Commonwealth funding (received through the State Government) led to the relocation of Women's House from Roma Street to Spring Hill. It is now in West End.
