National petition towards equal citizenship for Aborigines

Blank petition form requesting Section 127 and the discriminatory words in Section 51 be removed from the Constitution by the holding of a referendum "at an early date". At foot of leaflet: "Authorised by Mr. Stan Davey, general secretary for the Federal Council for Aboriginal Advancement, on behalf of 34 affiliated organisations from all Australian States and Northern Territory ... petition to be returned by February 28th, 1963."

Report on the 16th Conference of the FCAATSI

Duplicated typescript report from the 16th Conference of the Federal Council for the Advancement of Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders held at Brisbane Trades Hall, Brisbane, from 20 to 22 April 1973. It includes extracts from a speech by R. Finney, Solicitor for Aborigines and Islanders Legal Aid Service, with some handwritten pen corrections, as well as a keynote address titled 'Smash the act' given by Mrs P. Miller of the Council for Aboriginal Rights, Victoria, in Townsville in January 1973. The keynote address relates to the Aborigines Act 1971, the Torres Strait Islander Act 1971 and the Regulations of 1972.

Duplicated typescript flyer circulated by the Council for Aboriginal Affairs (Victoria) on behalf of the Federal Council for the Advancement of Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders agreeing with the Country Party of Victoria that the Trust Fund system in Queensland should end. Includes a resolution for 1971 that the Commonwealth Banking Corporation should dissociate itself from this fund by 21 March 1971. Second leaf contains a list of people campaigners can contact to demonstrate support for the campaign.

Minutes of the meeting of the Trade Union Sub-Committee meeting

Duplicated typescript minutes of the meeting of the Federal Council for the Advancement of Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders Trade Union Sub-Committee, held at the Brassey House in Canberra on 29 March 1970. Meeting was recorded by convenor John Simms Baker. Includes a report on trade union action and the Aboriginal Advancement Movement and updates on the Roper River Strike, needs at Wattie Creek, the new ACTU (Australian Council of Trade Unions) Committee and the work of the State Committee of Unions Working on Aboriginal Problems; and union delegates attitude to questions of voting.

Also includes two attachments: a 'Policy for Northern Aborigines', two pages, dated 25 March 1970, prepared for the Trade Union Committee of the FCAATSI by J.H. Kelly (possibly Jack H. Kelly), and a statement from the Trade Union Sub-Committee of FCAATSI, one page, titled 'Why Australian trade unions must continue to work in a real multi-national organisation for the rights and advancement of Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders', signed by J.S.
