History
New Zealand-born Robert Hall was a Presbyterian missionary. In 1914 he was appointed superintendent of the newly established Presbyterian Aboriginal Mission on Mornington Island in Australia. He was murdered on 17 October 1917 while away from his station. In 1918, an Aboriginal man known as Burketown Peter was charged with the murder and pleaded guilty.
