History
Jerry Brown Rrawajinda was a Yanyuwa man from Borroloola in the south west Gulf of Carpentaria in the Northern Territory. His name was changed to Ngarnawakajarra Brown to reflect his status of authority after the transference of a performance from the spiritual domain into the human world via a dream process. He received a song from Ngabaya, the Spirit Man, during their travels in the sky. He is described as 'a leader and songman for all the ceremonies, dreamer and finder of the Kalwnyarra'. It is likely he was born in 1918 or 1920 and passed away before 2003, but more accurate dates cannot currently be determined.
